Moving to Vegas need help

Hey there, I am currently living with my parents but have had it with them so I am moving out to Vegas next week as soon as the check clears. I plan to fly out there and rent a cheap hotel for 40 bucks a night for a week while I look for apartment studio's in the northern area of Vegas. I have found a few for around 600bucks like this one... http://www.apartments.com/partner/summary.aspx?page=summary&property=103017.12&p=CommJunc&prvpg=15&partner=CommJunc&prvpg=15&pdriveit=0&pdrivefrm=1#MenuItem

how is that area of town? I used to live with my sister here a couple years ago so I know about the CAT bus system, and places to go, but I don't remember what N Jones BLVD was like. I also need a place that is furnished.

As for jobs go I don't have one lined up but I plan on going to the temp to hire agencies like Kelly Services Addeco etc... I have previous work experiences in the kitchen and manufacturing, packaging shipping etc....Id rather do buffet line work in the kitchen if possible because I'm not that great at cooking. I also like shipping but it would probably be really hot in those type of enviroments.

My parents think I'm stupid which I might be because of how bad the job market is, but I have enough money I think? (7K) to get started, and I need to get away form my parents as fast as possible or Ill lose my mind.

I know Im not really asking any questions but any advice you have for me? I plan to leave next monday.
Appreciate the help

-Daniel

Daniel,

I applaud you for getting out on your own! Vegas is awesome and a great place to do this. Camden Hills is an okay complex in just an average area. But if cost is what you are going for to get you settled, you will be fine. Camden Hills offer one to ten month leases so don't sign a long lease so you can move somewhere nicer. Go to www.zipskinny.com and put in the zip code 89108 and check out that region of Vegas.

I am also moving to Vegas the end of April. I have lived there in the past and loved it but moved to Calif. As far as your parents, the depressed unemployment market is the construction and real estate - which you did not mention that you are apart of. Finding a job will be a full-time job in the beginning especially if you are going to a hotel or casino, it can take two months for them to actually hire you. You need to be able to get a Sheriff's Gaming Card, etc..but need sponsored first.

7k is not a lot of money if you gamble, so watch that! You did not mention your age...as young people seem to be able to make a dollar go a long way.

The cheap hotel..you will only need for a night or two as you should be able to move right into the apt that you have selected. Did you call them to see if they have any open apartments?

Hope any of that helps!
Vegas is awesome! I love it too.
Good luck
Melissa
